I think its the latest TFH magazine but anyway its the one with the article on the Asian Arrowana. Well to the point, in the article about the collecting trip in Peru there is a small picture of a guy holding what appears to be a "Peru flower" ray. Anyone else notice this? I have one and I havnt really heard a definate awnser for max size. How big do yall think that one is? Its tail is THICK! If anyone can scan and post a pic here for us to see please do so!

take a pic and post it , for those of us that dont have the mag in front of us ;)

I thought yepezi rays stayed small?

That ray looks to be 13-15" in diameter.

It still looks like a "Peru Flower" to me.

13-15" IS small..

No one really knows max size of Yepezi, because no one has grown them out that far..

It's definately another peruvian Motoro variant, just like Motoro sp "Peru", "Blume" (aka Peru Flower), Laticeps, Yepezi, Common, Histrix.. They are all a bunch of brown ray morphs out of Peru that have very little factual identification.

Either way, it's brown and probably dosn't reach over 20" in disc size..

Wow, this really puts into perspective how large even the "small" rays can get. I understand what a 13-15" ray should look like but once you see it in a pic where it easy to see the scale it really surprises you.

I wonder how large they get in the home aquarium.

Ive had my "Peru Flower" for at least 6 months now and he has only grown MAYBE an inch from 7-8". Miles, based on that growth rate and your experience can you make a rough guess of how big my ray will be in a year from now, what about 2 or 3 years from now?
