Guys, Last couple of days some of my stingrays seem to be having a good itch under the disc. They are really itching and scrubbing their disk over the sand every now and then (as far as i can see a couple of times a day).
It appears they rub their mouth or gill or something. Ive been looking underneath the disc and cant find anything unusual. Ive thought about internal parasites of some sort but breathing is normal, eating is good and pooping is normal too. No apparant strange things. One of my females does appear to be less active. Anybody got an idea what this could be?
Could it be overfeeding? A couple of days back i got some feeders and threw them in. The females looked pregnant... That was a couple of days back tho.

Ive thought about adding some salt but im running a nitrate filter and thats a no-go.

I really dont know what it is but i am a bit worried. I will try to make a small movie so you can see but thats not easy as they dont do it very often.

Any thoughts are welcome!

Did u just add the feeders straight in bad idea if so carry all sorts should have been quarnteened first . iam sorry to say the feeders may have brought some un welcome guest with them

yup, water is 100%. the fish were already itching every now and then before the feeders came in but it appears they do it more often after they filled themselfses up to the max.

Bump! i dont know then mate maybe the pros will have more a idea when they come on. i hope they get better tho

Thanks anyways bro :)

well, it doesnt appear really bad and it has become way less that a couple days back. Im thinking (and got this info from somebody else) that it might be due to overfeeding.
This morning she was less active and itching a couple of times but after an immense poop, she feels way better. Maybe some sort of gut itch?

Anybody an idea?

can you post a video of this itching????

sorry guys but maybe loubard or haiko can translate this for mee

i dont think its stress tbh, they leave eachother alone and the datnoid is not bothering them. no external signs or something.

Nic, if i can make a vid, i will post :) havent seen her doing it rest of the day.
