Oahu Grown!
I just picked up a new motoro ray and everytime i've feed him frozen krill he would just nibble on them for a while then move on. I have also notice some feeder mollies that I had in there are missing so atleast I know he is eating. But is it common for the nibbling. Any suggestions?

yea i think it is my ray nibbles on cichlid sinking pellets and then spits it out

If your ray is trying it then its only a matter of time before he switches over to the new food. You just gotta wait him out...

Is this the first food you are trying to feed him? Most rays don't take to frozen foods right off the bat. I have always had great luck with ghost shrimp, then worms, then move them to frozen food. Once on frozen food they will eat just about anything.

give the ray some time....

the guy i originally got him from says that he was eating the frozen shrimp...well, i just tossed in a cube of frozen bloodworms and he smashed it!!!

Just give the ray some time. It sometimes takes them a while to accept a new food. Persistence is the key, but it goes without saying that you should try not to starve them to death (in the very unlikely event of that happening).

Best of luck!

thanks everyone, he is now taking in the frozen krill, i just gave him smaller pieces of it and the ate it all!!! thanks, Joe
