i've got a male motoro about the size of a dinner plate(i really don't know in terms of numbers) and a female tea-cup ray(i think) not even half mortoro's size.i recently noticed that my female ray had bite marks on her back and didn't really know until my male was grabbing on to her and she was trying to actually sting him but usually he lets go and try again when they meet and i dont really know why hes grabbing her my but my guess was maybe he was trying to "mount her"(if you know what i mean) or trying to eat her ect ect.hoping maybe you guys would know...

Sounds like breeding behavior. I'm no expert though.

I think I saw a plec in the picture. I would guess that is the problem. I have heard that plecs chew on rays. Definitely sounds like attempted breeding is going on though.

It's not the plec, i'm 100% sure it is your male.
Get either the motoro or the retic out:( . The male will kill your female until he gets what he wants. It has happen to me before. You could try again when the female retic is bigger but that may take a while and it still may not work.

Once you've removed either ray, if you want to keep them together add a female motoro so that the breeding attempts are less violent. To be honest in this situation i can only really think of complete separation. This is the problem with hybridisation, the less aggressive type gets completely mashed:(

BTW your rays are very nice:) and i wouldn't want to see any of them suffer;)

a male motoro will try to have sex with anything thats the problem with them

he will kill a female ray of any type if he doesnt get what he wants

that motoros got some domestic violence issues....
