I was hoping to make a nice indoor pond for my stingrays. At the moment I have 2 retics in a 135 gallon tank. But I want to be able to keep motoros and other kinds. So I went to a lfs and they said a 180 gallong fish tank would cost me $999. So I decided that I wasnt going to spend a thousand dollars on a tank and that I could probably make a nice indoor pond for half that price. I would like to make it big enought to hold up to 13-15 rays. So how should I go making this pond and how big will it have to be? But It cant be a soft tub or something like that.

a pond liner and some wood worked for me but sounds like you want to go alot bigger than i did, mine is only 8' x 4' 1'

My breeding pond was a 8'x4'x3' and it had five motoros in it most of the time. It was too small for them. On the up side, it only cost about $400 to build.

You could easily build a 1500 gallon monster that could house 12 plus medium sized rays. Three sheets of plywood, end to end with the sides walled in. Drop a liner in it, add some circulation pumps and a few large wet/drys or fluidized bed filters and you would be all set.

my indoor pond is about a 1000gallon its about 10'X3.5' X4' or somthing like that. I wouldnt say it i could hold that many rays but i keep koi in it. I can't remember the total cost but it wasn't much but i got my liner from a local fish hatchery for free.

i recently saw a i thins 8' diameter koi pool with some lg rays and the only thing think about i controlling humidity. this guys place felt like a sauna. i have a 300 gal rubber maid tub and i think i am going to make a top for it.

15 rays wow I would say a minimum of 12' diameter or 12'x6' atleast 24" deep... deeper would be better...also consider the costs too heating a pond that big won't be easy...
