I can't answer you question directly. But here's a couple pictures of a banged up Leo after mating (courtesy of T1KARMANN)

If I had to guess, I would say no it's not from breeding. Mainly because I don't see the disc torn up at all. And it's extremely gradual around the outside edge (especially in the 4th picture), I think if it was bite marks it'd be more random.

How large are the rays though?

Note: Reread you post, you didn't think this was mating at all. :S 3:33am, I need to go to sleep.
Nice rays though, I'm a fan of the lighter motoro's

This looks fungal to me. The lst pic kinda looks like heater burn. Damaged tissue is easily prone to fungal infections...

Treat with extra water changes and add some salt to the water IMO.

Thanks for the info glovanator... what do you mean by how large are the rays though?

I don't use any heater... It might because of bite. I put it in Aquarium before I move them to larger place. Thanks for the help....

Ur water parameters are nt right most likely, as agreed with spinoray looks like PH burn.

Edited: looks like the rest of the rays seem okay, might be fungal infection too.

I was curious about their disc diameter. Just for reference for their age.

However, the real reason for my post = BUMP!

Can anyone help? This is a pretty interesting (and unfortunate) illness.

Oh, How long have you had them for? Is there any chance they were wild caught?
