Ok so a friend of mine and I got into an argument on pond dimension for a stingray pond. I said that shallow and very wide was good and he said that deep is better because the amazon is deep. Which one of us is right btw ive been keeping stingrays for 4 years now and none have passed on:headbang2

honestly why not go deeper though? you can keep more fish that way:)
stingray need the area not the deep because they are usually swimming at the bottom ! you can't keep more ray with the deeper pond !

I fell in love with rays when I was 10. Now I've got them and I'm happy, but now a real question is housing the rays in a greenhouse pond a good idea? My indoor pond needs to be moved for Koi and my rays have needed an upgrade

green house is a good idea but to keep the temp stable is the question..all depends on area and weather habits of the area. but over all a good idea.. might as well do some hydroponics with veggies... and id go with a shallow ray pond.. deep is good for cooler areas. shallow is easier for looking at the rays and moving them..i dare you to go into the deep looking for a ray.....

The Amazon river is, on average, about 150 feet deep. Another extra 2 or 3 feet of depth in the home aquarium really won't make a difference, if that's your reason for doing such a thing.

Shallower is just for ease of feeding. As long as they can get food on the bottom and not super hyper fish above, a 2-3+ foot deep tank/pond is fine.

Do a hybrid pond, both in and above ground. The bottom part buried in soil will help with stablizing temps. Depth too.

A big enough greenhouse can have a shallow feeding area and deeper main pond. Bottom drains, huge filter, bog.....

I dont think the color of the house you make the pond in affects it
