here is a link to his transalted webpage.

i purchased a white xingu ray and a bd female both wild caught and both were supposed to be in perfect healthy condidtion eating and very fat.i was sent photos of the rays and they were both looking great.when i recieved my rays last week, one the xingu was DOA and the bd female very thing pretty much dead. The condidtion of these rays was alot different from what i had seen in the photos i was sent.these rays have not eaten in weeks. Now the photos were edited or date was modified on photos and were taken before export from brazil.

now i have treid to contact florian in germany several times he will not respond or answer my phone calls.when a person tells you that the rays are in perfect shape very healthy and you recieve them in this shape you pretty much know that he is screwing me.

This is a warning please nobody on this website send this guy money,i have herd from a few other very large vendors that he has screwed them also the same kinda ways but for way larger scale dollars amounts.i am greatfull i never spent that amount, but it still signifigant enough to hurt me badly.

That is sad to hear!

I would add that it is always not easy to meet in person; but with a Ray purchase I would want to go and see it first and bring it home myself or jump on a plane and see the fish first.

that sucks but if it were me id see it to believe it..

Typical scammers.

I was in contact with Florian a few months ago...
He had pictures of some really stunning rays, and i almost bought a male leopoldi "BD" - but i got a bad feeling.
Glad i didn`t go all the way...

I would add that you shouldn't purchase from Joe at Monsterays, Inc. in New York. He scammed me out of over $4,500...just never shipped the BD's and never returned my money or shipped any rays. Expensive lesson.

That really sucks to hear but thanks for letting everyone know, with your misfortune you might have saved someone a LOT of money , I really wish you could get your money back or at least have 2 more rays of your choice shipped right to you free of charge :(

If someone was in the market for a few of the rare breeds of rays where would be the best place to go? Do they have a website ?

I like to add to the list from my bad luck:

1. You should be carefull in dealing from Shawn in MN. A couple years back (even before he began to advertise at this site). I bought from him a couple times from him from Aquabid. Those time went smoothly. Last transaction, I ordered a pair of tiger ray. He only sent me a female, and said the male died before he could ship it to me. After that he kept saying that the price was up really high because of Asia buying those rays, so he has to wait for the price to come down. I believe him so I kept waiting and waiting , and still never received the tiger ray that I paid for.

2. In order to complete a pair of tiger ray, I also ordered and paid for a male tiger ray from Aquascape online (Pedro). He kept me waiting and waiting month after month. After a while I get tired and asking for money back, I never received any refund from him. All you can contack is the girl who answering the phone. I contacted the credit card company, but they said since it was over 3 months, there was not much thay can do.

I learn that pick up is the best way. If you pay online, you take your chance....... Good guy can go bad given the opportunity.....

Dang bro I am so sorry that was alot of money:eek:
If it helps I am a Firm beleaver in Karma , he might think hes ahead of the game but like my dad taught me "what goes around comes around" and I am sure by letting everyone here know probably costed a whole lot more then that so see Karma sometimes its a beautiful thing:naughty:

ONCE again. Shawn should not be bashed.... how long ago was that? ??? every1 has a bad expierence with a person/company selling LIVE fish, esspecially rays... yes it is risky, bc of how delicate they are... you can't impress every1!!!
