So my motoro pup stingray has just shed his stinger not too long ago but thing is i read some threads and I hear people say that there stingers are complete safe as the poison covering rips off as the stinger comes off. Others say you have to boil it to take off all the poison. Others say that certain parts of the stinger is poisonous. So I am a bit confused. Can people clarify this?

The black sheath has the venom so if it's on there you can pour hot water over it or boil it or whatever. A white stinger can't sting you, a black one can.

better safe then sorry... but good to know pete, was curiouse myself.

Exactly.
I will say that clean ones are still sharp, so be careful. I've drawn blood several times with cleaned barbs. (Note to self: Never put them in your pocket thinking you'll remember the barb is in there.)

Hahaha okay thanks you guys. The barb right now is white so it should be safe. Ya i lost the stinger at one point in my room and i moved my bed and my desk around and i accidently stepped on it thankfully it didn't draw blood but it did hurt a bit well thanks.
