I want to add to my filtration system on my 600 gallon ray tank.
Currently, it houses my henlei group and some aros and dats. The high bio load is filtered using a 180 gallon sump (filter socks, W/D, MBBR, and ceramic rings) that is run by two Mag 24's (rated at 2400 gph) AND four (4) large canister filters - Eheim 2262 (900 GPH). I also run a drip system at approximately 150 GPD or ~25%)
My thoughts are to simply add an Ultima II 2000 on the outlet of one of my Mag 24's due to it's flow range of 1000-2500 GPH and smaller size to remain hidden from sight. I'm hoping that the addition of this bead filter will allow for more mechanical filtration (less filter sock changeouts) along with additional bio in case any of my other filters might crap out. Thoughts???
Oh, and I will be adding a UV filter on the outlet of my other Mag 24 - I've been meaning to do this, but I want something that will sterilize and not cost an arm and a leg!
Any suggestions or comments are more than welcome!
Thanks!!!
