Interested in possibly getting a sting ray (Cortez, yellow, or bullseye). This would only happen after I/if get my new aquarium set up- 72x48x30. Currently have a queen, blueface, imperator, sohal and midas blenny. Soon will be adding a pair of maroon clowns to present tank. Also, have a big ritteri anemone.
Would like any thoughts/suggestions on compatibly with my present fish and stingray.

Thanks much,

Well if you go with the 74x48x30 your options are fairly open as far as which Ray to go with. However for tankmates, all of your angels are out of the question. Which really only leaves you with the Sohal and the Midas.

That is what I thought. However, not sure why? Why is it ok to house rays with tangs and not angels? Is it maily a bio load issue? Sohal (as with alot of large tangs) is a big poop dumbster too! Both types of fish (tangs, angels) are considered by most, as being grazers. They both nip at everything to test for edibility. Both have about same inquisitive natuare. I thought rays were kept mainly with "monster fish"? Seems like I read somewhere that angels like to "lick" slime off the rays... Tangs don't?
Just love rays, but also can't part with my angels.
Suggestion/comments?

Angels are known to be more aggressive towards Rays than Tangs. Angels will nip at the eyes, tail, disc, which can lead to bacterial infections and even death. Not something highly recommended, it has been done but most try to avoid it.

Yeah - Angels are known to be territorial, and will pick on rays (and benthic sharks) to point of serious injury or even death.

As for your tank - IMO, only the Cortez would work in that tank for it's entire life. For the yellow & Bullseye - I would suggest going with a tank that at least 8' long - for just one of these rays.
