hey guys, i was wondering if water hardness matters to stingray,,, soft or hard,, or does it matter if you are trying to breed them?

My well water has a high pH and is fairly soft.

Soft water with high pH is easier to deal with than the opposite. You should test your alkalinity and/or carbonate hardness (they should be fairly similar depending on your water source). If it's high you can add an acid to reduce the carbonates to carbon dioxide, which will gas off. Talk to some ray people about doing this first, as I have never done it with rays. I have used hydrochloric and phosphoric acid in planted tanks though.

Oops, I thought that was the OP's report

We have hard water and high ph. The rays could not be happier with it.
