Hello,

My reticulated stingray I received has a bad wound on its tail. It is right where her stinger is. It is pure white and has some fuzziness on it. With that said, she is very active and eats blackworms/bloodworms constantly. Water parameters are perfect plus I do a 10%-30% water change daily. She seems perfectly healthy except for this wound. I am debating adding salt but a bit confused about the quantity of salt per gallon that would be recommended. I have had her for 2 weeks at this point. She arrived with this wound but it doesn't seem to be getting better. Please help.

Salt 1 tsp per g and clean water should work. If not better despite the salt and clean water then try nitrofurazone.

If it’s wild caught, theres a possibility that it’s captors used something to bind the stinger to protect them when handling, depending how sympathetic they are this can cause injury / infection. If the ray is eating and the infection is not spreading it may just clear up with water changes over time. Use salt to speed up the process if you like

Its eating really well. It seems very active too. I'll try some salt. How fast do these things usually take to heal?
