Would a Teacup stingray work in a 5ft 120G tank 60x18x24? It will have minimal decor through out for hiding spots and 6 cichlids. A GT, JD, Green Texas, Rose queen, Juvie male festae, and juvie brasiliensis with very low aggression. I know the festae will probably go nuts as he grows but right now hes good. I have another tank just in case it happens. Anyway, would it be ok to do? Also does it matter what substrate is used? gravel or sand?

Id say very risky as all those cichlids get quite large and quite agressive. The ray gets big as well. I would say minimum 6x2 foot print for they ray and a couple of well selected fish. MUCH LARGER to acomodate all those sp of cichlids and a ray. As for substrate I would go bare bottom as cichlids love to burrow and that could cause problems with the ray, plus tank maintenense would be much easier. As far as rays go I would try to get a motoro, or a Hystrix as they are hardier than the tea cups. There are a few that have luck with the teacups or retics but there are A LOT who havent. GL with whatever route you go. It's always nice when you have a combo that is rare.

P.S sorry for the spelling, late night and boos..

Rays like to burry themselves in the substrate and you wouldnt want an agressive territorial cichlid trying to burrow in the same area the ray is burried...
