Are flagtail and stingray good tank mates? We also have datnoids and pink tail chaleus. Will everything co-exist peacefully together? Thanks for any input.

Should be fine BUT FF have been known to be slime coat eaters. I had one with my rays and then one day he got the taste of slime coat, hence he is now gone...

Sounds good to me. Tinfoild Barbs or bala sharks might be less threatening then the flagtails though. Less expensive too.

Just make sure that the FF is bigger than the rays diameter. I moved my 7" FF three nights ago to my big tank. It's only an inch smaller than my ray but the ray still went after it like a hungry wolf. I ended up moving the FF back to my 30 gallon until its about 9-10" big.

Drop the Flagtail idea. I have seen firsthand what they can do in one night when they get the taste for the slime coat.
And it's not good the ray took months to recover and it was touch & go for the first few weeks. They had been living together for over a year with no problem.

I never kept a FF b4 but I'll agree with the above. But pink tail chaleus sure make gr8 tankmates as they are always on top.

I've kept them together before, but wouldn't suggest it for a home size tank. Prochs tend to pick - as mentioned.

If you have enough depth, they like to stay up high, and leave the bottom dwellers alone. But we're talking 8-10 feet worth of depth.

I sold my flag tails away because they were picking on my ray.

I guess its the other way round with my ray
