I have done some reading on stingrays and Ich. Some people say that Stingrays can get it and some say they can't get it. Has anybody on here have had their stingray with a case of Ich. Please post your thoughts and experience on this this thanks!!!
The reason I asked was that I went to a couple of LFS in my area that both sell rays. On some of the tanks was NFS (Not for sale). So I took a close look to find out the fish had Ich. Both stores were extremely hot inside as they did not have heaters in the tank. I just wanted to know if that ich could carry over to there ray tanks.
Stingrays are not susceptible to the common diseases of tropical fish....so in theory stingrays dont get ick even if they are in a tank with an infestation of ick
Dr. Ross's book states" an aquarist we know placed several stingrays in an aquarium with a heavy ick infestation to determine whether or not they would contract the disease. After several weeks, the rays showed no sign of ick." Personally I have never seen rays getting ick
