So i just added my new reticulated stingray to my tank which had been crystal clear for months now with a silver arowana. Now my water is a foggy from the sand being kicked up. The sand also seems to stick a little to the stingray. Is there anything to worry about or will some water changes solve the problem?

:D Congrats on the ray. I just added a small retic to my tank.

What size is your tank?

The "fog" could be caused by a rise in amonia, Stingrays produse lots of it!

Could be substrate related, what type of filtration system do you have?

Good luck with the ray although small they are generally very active for a FW ray.

the ray will be kicking up the smaller finer sand which was not getting disturbed before. it will clear with WC`s and the filters. fine sand sticks to rays it isnt much to worrie about. they normally just give there disc abit of a fick to clear it if they get sick of it being there.

Thanks for the help, I just put a polishing pad in the filter and it is starting to clear, and as for the sand sticking to it, ive been wondering about that
