I was wondering if anyone had any experience with freshwater rays and redtail barracuda, sometimes called the spotted cochorro. I originally had my 6" reticulata, Pablo Escobar, in with a 3" barracuda, which ended up being expensive food. I got a 5" barracuda, which only took Pablo 6 hours to devour. He only ate the eyeballs, because he wasn't able to fit the whole body in but, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with keeping these two together. My thought process was that the ray was intimidated by the barracuda b/c they are both extremely predatory...Any thoughts?

The barracudas look like a worm, aka, a tasty ray treat..

You need to have the barracudas be very good sized in comparison to the ray, with a very large tank and lots of open swimming space. I have seen this combo be succesful many times, but the Cudas need to be good sized.

I've had a apir of 8" hujetas with my P. humerosa pair for several months now. the rays never look at them.

Need to feed your rays more! ;)
