We provide educational presentations for schools and would like to add stingrays to our program. We would like for a few of the students to be able to pet the rays. Is there a specie that would be best suited for petting without having to worry about getting stung?
Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

They are called stingrays for good reason. They all have stings.

The barbs can be trimmed but they are replaced by the stingray after a few months.

The best bet would be some captive bred ones that are missing a the stinger(A portion of their tails), and are used to being hand fed.
