stinky cichlid water

Why does my 75 gallon stink when there is only one fish in the tank with two plecos.The only fish a reddevil.I did a 50 percent water change and added salt and it still stinks.what could this be

it could be a result in the bacteria in the water, was there a change in room temperature? I noticed that if I turned on the heaters on all of my tanks 125 gallx1 55 gallon x2, 30 gallon x1 an odor would be present for a while

add some carbon to your filter and change it every 2 weeks until the smell goes away.

What are you using for filters? Have you cleaned them lately? Maybe some food stuck under the hood or decaying in the tank somewhere.

I use cichlid gold to, and if there is ANY left in the tank even for a short amount of time it begins to smell.
