is there any way to keep gost shrimp from making the water smell so bad? I need live food for my 210 sw and i cannot think of a way to keep them alive for the week. they die and before i know it they are smelling really bad. they were in a 10 gallon underneath in the stand of the tank what do they need to stay alive long enough for me to keep them for one week? Any advice would be great:)

are these the freshwater ghost shrimp? I keep mine in an unheated 10 with wood and floating plants with no problems

yes what do ya feed em

I get about 400 at a time and dump them in my tanks and my fish can pick them off as they please and after a while they don't pig out on them. They eat different types of food everyday and pick shrimp as they please. Shrimp don't need much to stay alive. An aerator or small biowheel is more than enough with a pinch of any type of food to keep them alive for weeks. If they die quickly you need to check your water, something might be wrong. They also can't stand any copper. Also try alittle pond salt.
