Hello I have notices as my fish grow the water started to stink as of late... Im doing regualr water changes 50-70% once or twice a week.... but still the water reaks in the room... I was wondering if there is a filter media to help this out? like Carbon or Purigen? I dont want to buy anything that may not work....

Right now im running 2 ac110's on a 75 gallon with just sponges and loaded with bio media

Carbon does help remove the odor but usually only last two weeks before you have to refill with more carbon. I buy the mesh bag at Petsmart and fill with carbon. This can get messy but it's cheaper than buying carbon cartridges. Also, doing weekly water changes of 20-30% will help as well.

I think water changes will help more than carbon, but I would utilize both.

check your water out your tap because if its messed up the water changes wont help

I just read an article in TFH and from that article it could be a dead spot in the gravel, sponges or deco. It was talking about anaerobic bacteria (without oxygen) growing in parts of the tank where there is little to know water/oxygen exchange. The article states that it smells like rotton eggs. Stir up the gravel well, remove any plastic cave like decorations or drill holes in the top so water can exchange. Have to find the source.

A good gravel stir during tank maintance is always a good thing. I usually do it after I vacuum the gravel.
