So I plan on getting a 55g-75g in the next couple weeks. At the moment I have a 4-5inch red wolf fish in a 20g long and a 3 inch JD and 4 inch senegal bichir in a 10g. (zero aggression problems in 10g) Will this stock list work for a year or so with plenty of hiding spots etc?

Also at the moment of course they would not work, but once the JD and senegal get a little bit bigger.

Either way if you don't keep up on the feedings that wolf is going to make dinner out of those. The only things that seem to go good with wolves are those that are too robust in size like pbass and arowana and thats still not a safe bet.
The red wolf is more out and about then other wolf fish and like to pester other fish.
The JD and senegalus will be a snack sooner or later IMO.

:iagree: with above post,

once they all mature, you'll find that they start killing each other for being a fast food in your tank. I will never risk those fishes in the same tank.
You mentioned in other post that you saw wolf fish being kept successfully in some people tank, but I guess this is not a bet for which you could count on, no offense but I will not do so for each predatory character of the fish.
Thats what I think,
cheers

What about the senegal and jd in a tank together?

Looks like some type of bichir. Go to the poly section and I am sure you can answer question in no time.

An update! I plan on getting a 90g. Stock will be senegal bichir, female jack dempsey and a red wolf fish. I am contemplating getting a royal pleco or a salvini cichlid. Would either of those or both work in the tank?

Also, for a 90g would a ac110 and 2 ac70 be ok for filteration?

Ok well you need a response from someone who is keeping a wolf fish. Right now im keeping a wolf and loiselli ina 20 gallon long divided in 2. The only fish that is acting aggrssive is the loiselli cichlid. This fish is in the same family as the jag. The wolf just sits on the botom and eats when i throw fish in the tank. The red wolf is a little bit more risky because it is more active than the common wolf fish which i have. About a year ago i had a 9 inch wolf get killed in a pianful way by my old jag cichlid. It really depends on the fish. The 90 would be a good idea just for the fact that it is bigger. The senegal in my opinion would be a bad idea cuz i have a palmas bichir and would never put him in a tank with such a fish. Anything that spends most of its time swimming on the bottom will just make it easier for the wolf to eat. The red wolf stay alot smaller than the common wolf so your jd will be ok as long as when u add him he must be the same size if not bigger than the wolf. I suggest more feedings for the jd and less for the wolf so the jd bulks up. As far as you senegal i would suggest putting him in the 20 gallon long after the wolf is outta there and keep him in there alone or a small top dwelling fish. To risky for the sen.
