Yeah, another one of these stocking questions.... My parents want me to convert the old 29 gal into a "tropical community" tank. So to keep them happy(they are "funding" my fishkeeping obsession afterall), I agreed...sort of.

Anyone have any suggestions? Preferably something colorful.

Do you know what they like? Maybe bring them to the lfs with you and have them choose or write down the names and research them.

cories (emerald or panda are the cutest imo)
congo tetras
rummy nose tetras
killifish (theres like 1200 different kinds)
and some sort of alge eater

throw in some plants.. some nice substrate.. a nice piece of wood and call it a day

I was in the same situation and decided to go with a bunch of smaller fish and am actually pretty happy with my selection so maybe my stocklist can help out. I'll start out by saying i have heavier filtration on it for the amount of fish because, i feel its a little on the over stocked side. But they're all healthy and growing good. Believe it or not, there is no aggression or nipping! Hope this helps out somehow!

1- Marble Angel Fish
2- Ghost Shrimp (cherry shrimp look better though)
7- Cardinal Tetras
2- Panda Cories (look like clown loaches)
1- Peppered Cory
2- Albino Cory
1- Plain brown Cory
2- Guppies
1- Female Betta
