So I've decided for a birthday project I'll build a 180 gallon aquarium, I expect it to probably be complete around late May. The tank dimensions will be 72x24x24. The only real problem I've faced is what I should put in it, there are lots of options and I've only kept an Oscar, Bonsai Flowerhorn, Severum, and a couple jewel cichlids for a while. Since the tank currently is just a concept I just need ideas. If anything changes I'll adjust accordingly and only want fish I can house for life in this aquarium. I was thinking I'd have sand substrate and probably plant the tank.

I want to stay away from oscars probably.

Since its a good size tank u have a lot of options u looking for something aggressive like jaguar, red terror, Midas, red tiger mota, a single pair of doviis or something more mellow like viejas, Jack dempsey, Nicaraguans. It just depends on what u like. Big, small, colors, aggressive? U have a lot of options

Grammodes, black nasty, dovii, breeding jags, buttikoferi. Really need more info on what your looking to stock as far as multiple fish in tank or just one big monster.
