I was wondering what fish I could keep in a 90G tank for about 2 years, so far I have a 9" gar and a 4" Tiger Shovelnose that I am going to return due to the fact I thought it was a juvie lima..What predatory fish could I keep? Tank will be upgraded to around 180-240

When do you plan to upgrade? Is the 90 gallon a standard 90 or does it have odd dimensions? What type of gar is it (true gars, or characin)?

Some polypterus such as senegal,ornate,delhezi,ropefish,ect. Or you could do some cichlids. Your choice in the end. Welcome to MFK

I think what you're getting at is that any true gar will need a tank wider than 24"due to their length and lack of flexibility......just guessing though

Well that, and it will affect if they can get small fish or not.
