I have a 160 gallon tank that I'm setting up in my garage. It will be setup on the floor like a pond, with an aquaponic filter (so it should have a high level of filtration).

If this was yours, what fish would you stock?

Requirements:

*Freshwater Fish

*No Goldfish or Cichlids.

*All fish must be the same species.

**BONUS (but not necessary)

**Chosen fish can breed in this setup.

**There is some demand for this species and excess can be sold.

So, what fish would YOU stock in a "Garage Pond"?

.

I will be honest and say I’m not a fan of the pool pond craze but having a large school of Toxotes jaculatrix would be cool. Then use hardscape such as driftwood and rock to come out from the top place critters for some target practice. As far as what sells that seems location makes a difference as to what sells. Here I can’t hardly give away fish such as lyonsi or trimaculatum but guppies as lame as it sounds pays for my fish room as of late.

You could possibly do a small group of bristlenose plecos 5-6, along with guppies (as previously stated) or if you wanted a less colorful but harder live bearer to find you could go with humpback limia.

If it were me oh wait no cichlids.....ummm. I like the sword tails idea but I was going to add get one of the lesser available thorichthys and some rarer swordtails. Should have stuff to sell that way. But no cichlids so I guess the swordtails.
