I finally got around to setting up my 225 i got a few months ago. Its got about a week left on the cycle, its filtered by a built in overflow with a 55g sump with a 20g biochamber and a mag 24. I also have a cascade 1000 setup on for polishing. Its gotta have atleast one oscar to please my better half (she loved the oscar we had but he fell prey to heater malfuction). Im looking to have a nice community of the larger cichlids compatible with an oscar or 2. Ive looked at alot of different tanks on here but i just havent seen a nice combination that i liked. Please feel free to give me some input.

Managuense cool color and fun to watch eat.
Silver Arowana...Best fish ever. IMO
Lima Shovelnose
Cichla orinocensis

Or just a single species tank with a Caqueta Umbiferum or Parachromis dovii (this is the route I am taking my 210 currently)>

lots of african pike

Ehh silver arowana would outgrow the tank, im not too sure about the lima. Orinos take so long to grow and i dont have room to grow one out in another tank.

^^ you can always try to locate adults. waiting for everything to grow can not be that much fun. you could do a SA bio with Geo's, Severums, etc... a silver aro on top would be a nice touch too. Some will argue that it will outgrow your tank but it could work.

Unless your 225 is a cube, it should be sufficient for any species of arowana. I have kept a large silver in a 210 for 3 years along with cichla and a TSN (Which did eventually outgrow the tank and was donated to a local aquarium). Bigger is always better but a tank more than five feet long and over two feet wide is plenty in my opionion for a single arowana. Lima will should also live for life in your tank.

u could do a severum, geophagus, salvini, firemouth.
