I am having a hard time trying to come up with a new setup for this new 55g tank I have.......I am thinking should I setup a Cichlid community tank or should I just have one big cichlid like a Midas or Red Devil...
So this is what i am gonna do........I am asking you guys to suggest my stocking for me....I really like to have a Midas but I would also like to have a community tank...I know i cant mix both but what would look cooler??

i would personally prefer a community as it brings more life to the tank IMO

This site might help you out.

Community is better, 1 fish is boring. Also, a 55 gal isnt suitable for a midas or RD, its too small.

I suggest going with a few smaller/meduim sized peaceful cichlids.

well what kind of fish would you suggest for a 55g....I already have a convict, blue acara, and a jewel cichlid in there....anyother cichlid i could add? and maybe some tetras or tiger barbs?

You got the right idea. You could add something like what you already have. Rainbow cichlid, another acara, firemouth, sajica etc

A little school of tetras or barbs wouldnt hurt either. But just remember that theres always a chance barbs/tetras could be killed or eaten if one of the cichlids catch them.

yeah man sometimes having one huge fish in a tank can get boring..id say a community cichlid tank
