I have 2 tanks running right now, and it's coming time to do some stock juggling... Let me give you the stock list and then I'll tell you my issues:

Large tank (200gal)
1 Albino oscar, around 9"
2 Large Plecos (13-14")
Black Ghost Knife (9")
Bronze Featherback Knife (12")
8 Clown Loaches (3.5")
Angelicus Catfish ("6")
African Clawed Frog
Butterfly pleco (7" or so, I haven't seen him for months, but that doesn't mean he's not still in there.)

Smaller Tank (50gl breeder)
Silver Aro (12")
Gold Nugget Plec (5")
Overgrown feeder goldfish (9")
TSN (11")

So, clearly my 50gl is just a tad overstocked. I maintain it though, so it's not too bad yet. My issue is that I had planned on putting the silver and the TSN in the 200 when they reached this size, but in the last couple of weeks, my oscar has become very aggressive. I sort of anticipated some aggression from him, but it's like someone flipped a switch. In the 200gl tank, you never see any fish, because everyone is hiding, and the oscar is sulking. I don't want to put anything mid-swimming in there because he'll terrorize and kill it. So, here are some options I've considered.

1) Move Oscar and loaches to the 50gl immediately, and put everything else in the large tank. The problem with this is that the 50gl is really too small for an oscar. It would have to be temporary. Plus my bronze knife is quite aggressive too, but he limits his fighting to flurries with the oscar where noone really gets hurt right now. I'd worry about him picking on the Aro and Goldie.

2) Find the oscar a new home. I hate to do this, as it seems like a cop-out on a commitment I made when I bought him. Plus he's a nice looking fish, he's just an A-hole. Then I can move the Aro and TSN to the larger tank, and move the Loaches and ACF maybe to the 50gal.

3) Buy another tank. I know this is probably the ideal solution, but it would also be temporary at best. I'm pretty tapped out for cash atm. I could buy a 75gl tank and either put the oscar in it, or move the TSN and Aro in there for a bit of breathing room till they are bigger still and might not have a problem dealing with the O in the 200.

I dunno. I'd like to just do a shuffle, and focus my efforts on building a MUCH larger tank for commissioning next year.

noone? :(

i'd say move the angelicus and butterfly plec before you put the tsn in. they could maybe food for him, though without looking at the fish they could be fine size wise? i'd say put the o in the 50 til the aro gets settled, then give the two a shot in the 200 together. keep a close eye and if it doesn't look like it's going to work either re-home the O, or buy him his own 75.
