I know this is a lot to read.. so thanks in advance
So my little firemouth is finally big enough to go in the bigger tank (he's up to around 1.5") and im now faced with some considerations. Let me start off with listing my stock
45 gallon - 2 senegals, ABK, Opaline Gourami, Single Giant Danio (will explain later on) and 2 spotted pictus cats. (all the fish are young, everything but ABK and sens under 3")
10 gallon - juvy firemouth, 2 emerald cories
The only thing set in stone are the 2 sens and ABK in the 45, and the cories & danio in the 10.
My original plan was to put the gourami in the 10 gallon when the firemouth was ready to be switched, but honestly my gourami has become my favorite fish and i'd hate to downgrade his tank size. He's probably 2.5" now so bigger than the firemouth but I'm concerned if i put them both in the 45 the firemouth will harass the gourami (even though the firemouth barely pays attention to his 2 cory tankmates now other than a short chase here and there). He's the last of my original 3 tropical fish, i used to keep all natives when i was a kid.
The single danio was part of a school I had, they all loved to chase each other. They decided it would be fun to all swim headfirst up my filter intakes -__- he's the only one that was intelligent enough to not swim up it so he is going in to the 10 gallon.
The pictus cats honestly were irresponsible. I admit, i had just always really liked them and finally gave in and got one on impulse a few days ago. He was doing good but didnt really interact with any of the other fish so I went and got another to pair them up today, but so far while they swim together they're very nippy with each other and more aggressive than a playing sort of way, so im strongly considering returning them although they are both healthy.
So here are my options:
45- 2 sens, ABK , Firemouth, Gourami (if last 2 won't fight)
10 - Cories & Danio (probably add a small school of barbs or tetras)
or
45- 2 sens, ABK, Firemouth, 1x Pictus (the new guys going back regardless he's aggressive as heck)
10 - Gourami, Danio, Cories
Basically here's what it comes down to.
Do you guys think the firemouth would attack the gourami? and if u think he will and i go with sens, abk, firemouth - would i be able to add either a female convict or maybe a green sev? or would the convict nip my ABK's fins? Thanks again
