Tank size is 120 long

1 Crenicichla Lenticulata
1 Blue Acara
2 Salvini (I think they are a pair)
5 Silver Dollars

The only fish I actually have right now are the Salvini. I'm not attached to them. They are my mothers and she no longer wants them. I am set on the Lent but everything else is flexible.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Lents are a little bit (LOTTA bit) pushy toward any other fish. My Friends 12" lent pushes around his 22" RT/TSN hybrid cat, and a 14" Dovii. My 12" Female still asserts herself to anything in the tank including my 15" Royal Knife.

She used to be in my 112g(6 footer too)... She tried to kill the silver dollars in there. I didnt have much luck with her and those dollars. I do have a 12" Johanna that is in that 6 foot tank with 6 mid-size dollars and he doesn't care about them at all.. they follow him around sometimes.

The Acara will likely get bugged just like anything else... but probably more than dollars I would expect. The salvini would probably get chased the most.

If possible, add a small lenticulata so it 'grows into' the other livestock.. that way it is less likely to kill stuff. They just... really do tend to have more of an attitude than many of the other pikes. Bigger, tough fish, will fare better against the lent.

Hope that helps... sorry if it is discouraging!

Cheers,

Chris

Hi thanks for the suggestions.

The plan was to add everybody as juvies and let them grow up together. I only added the silver dollars as dithers is there something that would be more appropriate? The Salvinis have an attitude problem and are two of the toughest sob fish I have ever seen. I did not add them so the lent would beat them up but I did think they would be able to handle whatever the lent dished out and the lent would be able to handle whatever they dished out. What would you suggest if anything to replace the blue acara? Blue acara are one of my fav cichlids so I would not want to add one if it is going to be beat on constantly.

Sorry, haha, was tired last night and just read my post. I made the lent sound like the devil.

You should definitely be able to get away with it (particularly if adding the lent last, and the other fish being at least its size or larger).

I guess im just trying to warn that sometimes lents can be insane :P

Cheers,

Chris

lol okay

Yeah I'm used to dealing with puffers so unpredictability is commonplace in my tanks. I'm used to looking out for it.

If anybody else has any ideas or suggestions I'd be happy to hear them. Would I be safer just keeping one salvini instead of the pair to avoid breeding aggression? If so should I add a different type of cichlid to the tank and what would you suggest? Should I go for a catfish as a bottom dweller. Maybe a banjo or rapheal?
