I'm going to be purchasing a 100 gallon rubbermaid stock tank, and I'm trying to figure out what the best way to filter it would be. The tank has a drain at the bottom of it as well. Stock tank

It will be housing a red-eared slider turtle (about 4.5" long) and will be sitting on my floor.

Any recommendations?

I built my filter from extra parts I had laying around. It works great and runs silent. I have pics but can't put them up yet. Of course DIY filters are cheep, and easy to make. You could just buy canister filter. There are many out there to choose from and can get pricey. You might not use the drain just hang the filter lines over the edge. For turtles you'll need a good filter for the larger sized waste particles from shedding and pooping.

I recommend Tuff tubs (click link here: http://www.tufftubs.com/htdocs/plinoval.htm) over the rubbermaids, they are cheaper, come in black and have a lower, wider shape. You can get them at TSC or other farm stores. It also has straight sides, not stepped like the rubbermaids. They make all sizes, they have a 110 gal 140 gal, and 180 gal rounds. These also have a drain on the bottom. I have the 140 it's easily the size of a bath tub. I like it.
