my sturgeon is growing and needs a larger home until he can go in the pond next summer

wondering if there is much of a difference in using a galvanized stock tank or a plastic/rubbermaid ?
galvanized is cheaper for larger at my local tractor supply store

thanks

Unlined galvanized will eventually kill your fish, so unless you plan on using a pond liner definitely go poly.

I have used both the rubbermaid 300 gal and 100 gal for fish with success.
But as my pond fish have gotten bigger, I just invested in this, for $99 plus shipping, from Intex Pools.

Just put it up in my basement yesterday, doesn't have water in it yet, holds about 500 gallons.
I saw a post by someone on MFK from Australia using it for his large catfish, and it seemed a good inexpensive choice to overwinter pond fish, I especially liked the tons of surface area.

Do those puncture easily Duanes?
I've only had it a few days, so I've no experience with punctures yet. The instructions say to be sure to remove all sharp objects from underneath before setting up.
The material isn't very thick, but seems it has to be tough enough to handle kids running in and out with toys and stuff, so it should work for normal fish.
I'll post a pic when I close down my in ground ponds and get fish in, in the next 30 days or so.
I am going to fill it this week and put in a few small fish to get semblance of a cycle going, before moving in the larger fish, and transferring the filter, the lilies and other pond plants.
