Hi Everyone,
So I'm planning on getting a stock tank-tub in the very near future-asap! The only thing is, that I need it to fit in my basement (will post doorway dimensions in a little bit...so please bear with me and stay tuned as I know this is the main deciding factor!)

here are my requirements:
looking for a minimum of a 300 gal stock tank
must fit thru an average doorway and into my basement!

***anyone with one of these things, you are the person I wanna hear from!!!***

here's what I've looked at so far:

http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategories/945/Fiberglass-Tanks-With-Window
(the 336 gallon) I'm thinking 3ft is too wide for a doorway otherwise this is ideal:(

http://www.stockyardsupply.com/page19/index2.html
3' x 2' x 8' Oblong Tank
300 Gal
Now this would probably def. fit, but they don't ship out to NJ :irked:

If anyone knows where I can get one with good dimensions that WILL fit through a doorway and they ship out
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!!

Thanks a million everyone, and hope to hear from you guys soon!

tractor supply carries the rubbermaid tanks. Many feed stores will have them or similar also. could also consider the intex ponds(pools). They will fit through any door and are available in much larger sizes. I have the 10 foot framed unit(1100-1200 gal) and it is working great

the intex pools would be a great solution. i just set one up as well for my pacu, and will be filling it tonight.

since it comes in a small box, you can fit it through any doorway you need, and you not limited to the few sizes of stock tank. intex makes the metal framed pools from every size from a few hundred to several thousand. you can find them brand new for around $100 on amazon.com

Tractor supply has been one of the best prices ive seen but they dont deliver. We dont have one down here and the local feed store wants almost 400 for the 300 gallon. Also search online as there are alot of places that deliver cheaper

Tankdepot.com - look under agriculture supplies. 320 round 168 plus delivery. They have local places in Florida and Texas. If you can have it delivered to a business you can save about 40% on shipping

Gototanks.com - look under water troughs. I have not gotten a quote for shipping from them but example 350 round choice of color $239.00.

These are 6' across by 2' these should fit through doors if you have the manuver room to put it through the door...

Great sites thanks. Do you find your trough well made ? I always worried about them leaking thus never looked into one.

I have a few of the 35 gallon home depot "ponds" for tropicals but want to combine them all into one bigger pond as easier to heat in winter nights if need to.

I like this size http://gototanks.com/300-Gallon-Open-Top-Stock-Tank.aspx
Did you order yours online or buy from place in Florida?

Thanks

Louie....

Stock tanks weather plastic or galvanized, are usually pretty burly. They are made to take a beating from cattle and horses. I've got a 300 rubbermaid that I use to hold fish during spring clean outs in. I certainly don't handle it lightly. It gets thrown in at out of trailers, pushed pulled and dragged all over, and never had a problem. It also goes from 20 below zero in winter to 100+ in the summer.

I agree they are built to last. I drilled mine for a bulk head with a brand new drill bit and they arent easy to drill through. They are usally about half an inch thick
