Hi Everyone,
So I'm planning on getting a stock tank-tub in the very near future-asap! The only thing is, that I need it to fit in my basement (will post doorway dimensions in a little bit...so please bear with me and stay tuned as I know this is the main deciding factor!)

here are my requirements:
looking for a minimum of a 300 gal stock tank
must fit thru an average doorway and into my basement!

***anyone with one of these things, you are the person I wanna hear from!!!***

here's what I've looked at so far:

http://www.aquaticeco.com/subcategor...ks-With-Window
(the 336 gallon) I'm thinking 3ft is too wide for a doorway otherwise this is ideal

http://www.stockyardsupply.com/page19/index2.html
3' x 2' x 8' Oblong Tank
300 Gal
Now this would probably def. fit, but they don't ship out to NJ

If anyone knows where I can get one with good dimensions that WILL fit through a doorway and they ship out
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know!!

Thanks a million everyone, and hope to hear from you guys soon!

John

if you cna find a farm and tractor supply store in your area, they should be able to order one for you. by ordering direct from a store, you should be able to save the insane cost of shipping uich an oversized item.

just look in the phone book for farm or tractor supply, you should have luck.

thanks I'll give it a try...does anyone know if these things are bendable-say if I can't find any other good sizes, could I bend one through a doorway?, or are they as strong as they look?

UPDATE: I measured the doorway to the basement and its 34 1'2 in!!! So that means I just miss it (72x36x36)! Can I take off 2in or so with a circular saw off the top or something-or would it mess up the "structure" of the tub?

hey i have a 300 gallon stock tank. i bought it with out measuring. it made it in my doors fine but the sharp right hand turn halfway down the stairs prevented me from getting it all the way to the basement. mine was a rubbermaid stock tank. i used a sawsall to cut the first foot off. i got it in the basment and then siliconed the top back on. the cut didnt seem to affect the structure at all. ive been using it for the past 5-6 yrs. ive also moved it once. looking at your post though mine seems to be a different shape tub though. mine is circular. about 5.5 ft diameter and about 30 inches tall.

i agree, look for a tractor supply store. like a fleet farm or something. also, your garden centers might carry ponds close to 300 gallons. i know steins by me has them. they are just the outdoor ponds but who says you cant put one in your basement!

thanks smijeha-I think I may resort to cutting the tub in the long run! Thats good to hear it doesn't affect the structure of it-was the tub bendable at all or not really?

And I was thinking of a gardening center cause they do have the outdoor ponds-but those have to be placed in-ground if I'm not mistaken; if not, they will warp from the weight of the water-I think thats what I heard-the plastic is also thinner then the tub that you have...
