Having found a good souce of blue Stock Tubs i'm planning on building a nice big 3 tub system consisting of 2 small tubs flowing through into a larger tub (then filters, and repeat!) However, i'd also like to be able to put glass or acrylic windows into the sides of the tubs, but before i even think about cutting a hole in the side of one I'd like to know what i'm doing!
I did a quick search here and found a thread with some one asking the same question but no replies. The 'small' tubs are (if i remember rightly!) 6'L x 3'W x 2'D, and the large is 8'6"L x 4'W x 2'6"D and not sure how the structural integrity of them would suffer having most of a side removed as they are pretty flexible to start with and how well silicone will fix to this surface. I have experience siliconing glass to glass but not on acrylic/fibreglass and would like to avoid a very expensive and very wet mistake.
Any help would be much appreciated! I don't mind just being able to view my big cats from the surface if i'm peeing in the wind here but a side view would be nice too!
