After another member brought this up it has me thinking. My current stock for that tank is
metae
hrp
spotted rapheal,
Green phantom pleco
vieja heterospilus

Also have tiger silver dollars (being rehomed) and a striped rapheal (moving to another tank) Gonna add either large tiger barbs or bosemani rainbow fish but what colorful cichlid would you add ? Something in the peaceful side. Or should I just leave it as is ?

My vote would be a Pearsei or Bocourti. Both would be great in a community setting and would allow for a nice school of something like Australian rainbows. For all out personality, pearsei are like Oscars but totally easy going. The bocourti will have more color but not quite as outgoing.

I was thinking something mid sized. I did a quick search last night and seems bocourti could be hit or miss.

Bioload wise would another cichlid be too much

I think the current stock/bioload could handle 1 cichlid.maybe a severum-red or rotkeil,i like how the gold sev looks

I don't like to give opinions about stocking, unless I feel I've had experience with something that would appear to be eminently destructive.
Because every one has their own concepts about why and how we do how we do.
I usually don't like to mix old with new world fish in my display type tanks, but will grow them out together. In fact I think it looks funny to put Central American fish with S American. Of course, just my opinion.
I even try to match dithers to their somewhat proper geographical areas.
That said you are not overstocked at this time, so a school of something could be an aesthetically look, but also remember your fish seem to be young, and will quickly grow.
A bocourti may also be a beautiful and probably peaceful addition for a time.
They are not what I consider medium size though.
I had 3 grow to over 15" a number of years back, the 3 maxed out my 150 gal, so no other fish would fit. It did take 3 years before the bocourti needed to be moved to a 300 gal, again just to themselves.
I have 4 now in a 6ft tank that will probably need to be moved to my 500gal by next summer.

Thanks duanes I like the bocourti but what ever fish I add would have to live its life in the 150.
Could a lone bocourti metea hrp and vieja het live out their lives in my tank ?

Also like chocs and cyrptoheros

Cool tank. Especially the drift wood on the right is stunning.
Please remind me, what's your pH and hardness? That might help members to come up with even more suggestions.
