I set up a 40 gallon breeder tank recently and I know i want the tank to be more aggressive with predators and I was just asking for any ideas or suggestions of what I could stock it with, anyone?

Just curious what kind of fish do you like? Cichlids? Oddballs? Would the 40 breeder be their permanent home or more of a grow out?

Im really open to any ideas, im thinking about a RTC but im afriad it will out grow the tank too quickly and a couple Oscars to start off at least, and for now the plan is to be a permanent home

Yeah a rtc will definitely outgrow the 40 very quickly.. I have personally thought about Oscar being raised in my 40 breeder but wouldn't recommend it as its permanent home.. it could work as a sole inhabitant for a while though.... gonna have to think on this for a minute. I'm sure someone else will chime in soon

For permanent homes you will want to stay away from them. You could put a few senegal bichirs in there (1-3), or exodon tetras... Check out a thread called The End-All Mini Monster Thread or something along those lines, it is full of aggressive fish capable of staying in a 40 for life.

I'll check out that thread and consider all those ideas. And I would love to get my hands on some piranha but they're illegal in fl :(
