stocking 45-50 gallon tank, please help?!

right, so im getting a new tank in the next few months
anyway, i have no idea how to stock it :S the fish should be very hardy, colourful, and breed well
i was thinking convicts, but all i can have is one pair, and it would seem so empty
apparently even kribs are too violent :S
anyone have any ideas?

African cichlids--Mbuna are the way to go for what you want and size of the tank you will have.

thanks for the reply, but i just cant seem to get over my longing for cons :')
so ill rephrase the question to: what goes with cons in a 40 g tank?
(and yeah, breeding pair of cons)

Im dealing with sorta same situation with a pair they can be tough but I threw some tiger barbs in there and they are doing well so far!

dither fish like giant danios, i wouldn't put more cichlids
