stocking 50 gal

my friend just upgraded his tank and has room for more fish he doesnt plan on adding any fish for a while but wants to know what he should add. in the tank right now is a male and female peacock cichlid and a pleco. Is his best bet to go with other african cichlids?

Yes I would say that his best bet would be to stick with peacocks. He will be relatively limited by 50g tank size but should be able to get some more peacocks to coexist. I would advise to add no less than 3 at a time, and change the décor of the tank around right as he adds them, to trick the existing fish into thinking he is not in his territory.

If that's a common or sailfin pleco, I would remove it. Too high of a bioload for a 50g
