Well I'm getting a 55g soon, if I'm lucky this week because i found a good deal! $100 for tank, stand, filter and tons more!

The thing is that I've wanted a few fish for a while, i don't know why but i get random fish craving's. I've been wanting kuhli loaches(my fav:drool:), African butterfly fish(2nd fav:D), bumblebee goby, killifish(general i know), golden white cloud minnow, and odly comet goldfish(dont ask).

now i know i cant possibly put them all but what would be a good combination?

i really want the abf, kuhli, and the killi's but i think the abf might eat them.
Tell me your opinions. I'm also going to try and make it a decently planted tank(im going to try atleast, but it seems hard, with the co2 and all the other things!)

Thanks, -Chris

4 khulis
4 afb
6 white clouds (dithers)

oh and if bumblebee gobys are ok in the water afb's need u could do 1-2 of those

Well i think I'm going to leave the goby out because it seems difficult to feed, and i thought i could of gotten away with something like 6 kuhlis, 4 abf, and like 8-10 minnows, it will be a little over stocked but i think with a nice filter it's not impossible.
Maybe even replace the minnows with the killi's(8 about)?

Anyone else think differenly? O anyone ever kept any of these fish, could give some tips? Sadly i've tried th killi fish egg thing with the peat moss and trying raising them but i failed bady, none hatched.

If you are planning to do planted and don't want to invest a ton on lights I would look into some Java Fern. It is really low maint and grows well without all the special C02 setup.

wouldn't have fish like white clouds together with the african butterfly...the abf will eat smaller fish, so that scratches off the white clouds and killies off the list...a pair of kribensis would be interesting

Well i did a 5 sec google on kribensis, they seem cool, so thats on the list, but my poor killis off the list.

so something like 6 kuhlis, 4 abf, and 2 kribensis, seems good to me, i think i could squeeze a few more kuhlis in there thorugh beuse they dont make that much waste and are frieldy and do better in groups. If im lucky ill get some breeding in there, but then again if that need happen i would need to sell so i wont overstock the tank, do kuhlis breed often?

thanks

O and i have a question that been killing me for the longest!
Ok so abf fish are prone to jump often, so i will need tight lids and everything coverd.
but what i don't understand is that how am i going to cover all the gaps if all the lids for the tanks have that big gap in the back for the hanging filter and the heater and stuff, is there a differnet lid that i dont know about or do people just cover it up with like stuff around the house?

Just get a red devil and an oscar

I don't think that both a red devil and oscar could live in a 55 gallon for long.
