Stocking 72 gallon oceanic bow front stainless steel tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hiya churnHS, welcome to MFK.
There are a lot of chouces, just depends on what kind of fish you like. 5-6 rpbs, a community' shelldwellers, one gulper cat, lots of choices.
It would be easier to list no-nos like more than one rhom, p-bass, aros, rtcs, pacu, lmb. channal cats, or gar.

I would make it a planted tank with bichir and ctenopoma..

BTW that stainless steel setup is awesome looking.

Those stainless steel tanks are very slick..

Ever thought of doing a 'silver themed' tank.. Perhaps a shoal of red-hook silver dollars, a small group of pictus cats or columbian sharks, and a single silver arowana? Of course you would have to move fish once they outgrow the tank, but it could make a beautiful temporary display that would be quite active and impressive.

An oscar,pictus and pleco.
Heavily planted with 6-8 Angelfish and some cories
planted with 50 neons or cardinals and some cories
pair of jack dempsey or other medium cichlid
And im just warming up!! :woot:

I like the Exodon sugestion....they have been one of the most interesting fish I've kept. They like a deep sand bed wih a little river rock and driftwood.....and of course a few live plants.....makes for a real nice natural looking tank.
