Firstly I must point out I am not new to fish keeping but generally keep larger fish in a larger tank but this little 10gal is going to be my 2 year olds set up.

Problem is obviously this is a small tank, what can I keep in there?

Ideally I would like as many fish and as much of a variety as possible.

Any ideas??

I'm considering setting up a spare 10 gallon for my 3 year old. She loves GloFish. Black gravel, neon colored fake plants, blacklight, shoal of different colored GloFish. Not a natural look, not really my style, but it's 'her tank'.

I would avoid putting fishes in so small tank.. Shrimps would do much better :) put some cherry, yellow, crystal, etc in it and watch how they gonna mix colors by crossbreeding :P

guppies would be perfect, with fin variety and activity and colours, which will entertain ur daughter

And multiply like flies.. Shrimps are cleaning tank at the same time..fishes just pollute it more then clean
So small tank is too unstable for school of fishes (lets be honest - you need more then just 5 guppies to create visual attraction) and quickly something goes wrong..
