Hello,

First post here. Wanted to get some stocking advice for a 125g (72 x 18) I'm setting up. Filtration would be 2 Oase 600s.

I would like to focus the stocking around a group of 6 sveni. I was thinking the following:

1. 6 sveni
2. 1 severum
3. 2 electric blue acara
4. A large group of congos, maybe 15?
5. 1 blue phantom pleco

Would this work long term? Overstocked? Are svenis too big for a 125? Thanks for the advice.

Sveni will get a descent size to them (roughly 7-8 inches max, very rarely 9 inches) but if I was to do 6 in a 125 gallon, that's all I would stock the tank with using pool filter sand or any sand substrate. A sveni only tank look good. 6 sveni will fill out the tank nicely. Winemilleri and altifrons get larger than sveni so stay away from that unless you're looking for a breeding pair. A group of 6 sveni will fill out the tank nicely and won't look crowded.

Second option is you can do a small group of 4 or solo green severum with the EBA and pleco.

I recently bought a group of 5 RH Tapajos. First time with them. Beautiful fish. 1 of their features is long dorsal, caudal & pelvic trailers. Keeping them with other cichlids and/or nippy tetras may result in sacrificing this stunning feature.
These 5 in a 125gal w a group of clown loaches filled the space very well.
