Would you risk putting a Uaru in with a Midas. The tank will be slightly overstocked, to help with aggression, but I'm a bit worried that he may be too passive. I current' have them all growing out together in a tank. Here are the fish that are growing out.

5" Midas
7" Uaru
5" GRTG
4" Synspilum (3)
3" Pearsi (2)
3" Lyonsi

I noticed that the Midas currently leaves all of the rest alone, but he doesn't like the Uaru. He isn't damaging the Uaru, but he is probably stressing him out a tad. I would say he briefly chases him around once every 5-10 minutes or so. The Uaru swims close to the GRTG which protects him. The Gourami likes all the other fish but not the Midas. He will go after the Midas if the Midas comes close.

if the midas has taken a dislike to the uaru then its probably best to remove the uaru or the midas. i had the same problem with my old 6.5" GT picking on a firemouth, everything else he left alone even inch long uaru A. juvies.
i gave it time but it never stopped so i rehomed the FM.

normally i would say try it, i tried uaru A with a larger GT and it worked fine, but if the midas is already picking on it. at 7" uaru are lovely, would be a shame to lose it.

The Uaru doesn't even have a scratch on him yet, but I'm thinking that I may move him to a 55 gallon that is empty atm.

Looks fine to me man! My 125 is more crowded than that. And they do okay. There's a lot of good theory in this hobby but sometimes ya just gotta try stuff. Good luck.

yeah, you can't say those fish will fight before you put them in.
it will be alright if you do it right now.

those lyonsi take their damn time growing hey?

Just new fish syndrome. midas is establishing the hierarchy of the tank. I have severums in with a carpintes and festae. If i add a fish it gets picked on for a couple of days and then they get settled in. As for the overcrowdedness I would think not. I am way more crowded and know it

My lyonsi is one of the slowest growing fish. Its terrible how slow mine grows. I didn't know if this was normal or not? I have had him almost a year and maybe 1" growth.

They are all getting on quite well now. I put a ton of decor in the tank. There are nooks and crannys every where in the tank now. I have noticed minimal aggression in the last 24 hours.

nice. well good luck with it. i dont know about the others but i would like to see a pic of the fish if its not too much to ask.

haha yeah, my buddy had 3 lyonsi and now he has 1, they never grew fast enough to stick up against the midas in the tank or the festae.
he has one left i think.
about 5", he's had it for like almost a year, maybe longer.
