i like this idea, although i would go with cardinal tetras over the rummy's, i think color in a plated tank looks great againt the backround of a nice green aqua forest

i like that idea too...negative on the firemouth i had a firemouth inthere i moved him and a convict up to a 55gal cause they lookin like sex feinds for one another right now so im hopin for som hybrids from them...but tetras and blue rams sounds nice in a planted tank...maybe even one or two magenta snails in there too...

In my opinion i would go with some dwarf acaras or maybe keyhole cichlids....you may be albe to get away with a pair of crenicichla regani...rapps has them know..they are a species of dwarf pikes..that could be housed in a 29..no problem and you can still keep the planted idea with them since they dont really dig...

i guess im going to read up on how to go about keeping a planted tank and get that set up first...how about some goo obo's(not cichlids but still look cool)...maybe three of those...any opinions
