Stocking a 55 gallon tank open to new ideas?

I WANT to do Malawian cichlids but I'm not sure that the fish are being shipped to me anymore. So I'm looking for ideas in case this one falls through. Open to new ideas. What would YOU do with it (besides Planted and Marine tanks)

Really looking for freshwater fish actually but I'm open to new ideas.

African butterfly fish are cool, as are mbuna and other african cichlids.
