My Tiger Oscar has a case of fugus infection and have been treating since I noticed it and seems to be just getting worse. His mouth seems to have a hole in it to I check the water and is perfect as always and diet was fine until he got it. W/C every Saturday of 30%
I will need a fish(s) to take its place because I can't have 2 SD in a tank by them selves.
I am thinking polys, but maybe a something else.
EVIDENCE of the damage

what have you been treating it with? I've used maroxy for fungus, although nothing as serious as that

my jag developed something like that not long ago, despite good water and diet. his entire eye looked like a piece of cotton. i just added a good dose of salt to the tank and kept an eye on him.

took about two weeks to start going away, but it did. his eye looks perfectly fine now. wether or not he has any use of it ill never know however.

hopefully just wait it out if he's still alive and swimming, and just salt the tank or try another fungus med. thats a nice lookin O you got there, not a badly faded/bleached black it dont look.

He is being treated with meds and salt. Has been 1 week seems to have gotten worse won't move anymore. Just stays in the say spot it just as IKeepPacu said looks like a cotton ball.I have other pic to show how good he looked before this delemma

you should get a chinese hi fin banded shark or maybe a clown knife. maybe 2 iridescent sharks...very interesting and beasts like oscars during feeding times.

All the fish you're suggesting are too big for a 55g.
