Okay, so I am hopefully clearing out my 55g real soon. I had some bigger guys in there but now lost my chance to upgrade to the 125g I have been eyeing thanks to my roommate bailing on my apartment, nice guy.

So I really dont know much about Africans, but from what I beleive they tend to be smaller in size, obviously not all of them, but generally. So I am looking for some suggestions on fish to stock with.

I have a 55g like I said, I dont know how many or what kind would work good in there. So please toss me some ideas. I am thinking something in the 4-6" range, I tend to lean towards aggressive, but not specific. I want something that will keep me happy for at least a few years, I think I am just going to wait to get something good size till I get a house and wont have to move again.

Appreciate any help!

peacocks(alonacara)very wide variety of colors, blu ahlis(awsome metallic blue on males ,all females have no color on most peacocks and ahlies, cytacara moori, labidochromis(electric yellows)if you choose these stay away from any of the pseudotropheous, much higher agression level ,usually end up with only one bully pseudo after couple years inhabiting your tank/you should end up with awesome colors in tank, all africans,ph compatable etc. throw in some syndontis mulpuctatus, decorus, and angelicus for your scavengers and its a wrap

I give u some names:

1 male and 3 female of Astatotilapia Burtoni + 1 male and 3 female of Pundamilia Nyererei.

I had a little cichlid in my 10g that I just dropped into the 55g, turns out its a Jewel. How will the above do with that? I have read that the jewels are very aggressive.

Jewels (Hemichromis Bimaculatus) in my experience are really aggressive, I can't suggest u to try because the Burtoni male is a bad manner guy as the jewel and for sure anyone will hurts.

frontosa in a 55g ??impossibile.
